In 1987, Jenny Seagrove appeared as Miss Mary Morstan in The Sign of Four, a Sherlock Holmes story done for Granada Television in the UK. Jenny Seagrove co-starred alongside Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes and Edward Hardwicke as Dr. Watson. Ronald Lacey, playing dual roles, is another highlight of this made-for-TV movie.
Throughout her career, Jenny Seagrove has always shone in period pieces and The Sign of Four is no exception. She had begun her career in earnest with The Woman in White, which took place in the mid-1800s, and went to be featured in a number of other projects set in the past.
Five years later Jenny Seagrove would be featured in another Sherlock Holmes project, Incident at Victoria Falls, playing the character Lillie Langtry.
